About Me

Photograph of Scott Irvine

I love photography. I have been taking photos for over 25 years.

I studied City & Guilds photography at Poole College before taking a National Diploma in Photography, which led to a B.A. (Hons) Photography at Solent University in 2001.

I am influenced by the work of Henri Cartier Bresson, who brought the world 'The Decisive Moment', and Bert Hardy, who worked for the photojournalistic magazine 'Picture Post' in the 1940s. Hardy brought the lives of the ordinary English people to the masses.

I like my photography to allow the human element to retain their own identity and place within their environment.

I have had solo exhibitions in the KUBE Gallery in Poole College and the Peacock Gallery in Upton Country Park. My work has been shown in MUSE Magazine and has been used in advertising posters and flyers.

I am a member of the Poole and East Dorset Art Society, founded in 1924.

I photogaph anything and everything - no job too small.
